Or both. But I love that the act of poem-writing offers us this chance for honesty and clear sight, and that we don't have to resolve the difficulties with platitudes. We can speak them or write them, and we can place them alongside all the things that give us hope. A lovely, wise poem from a lovely, wise poet! What a marvelous poem – or a prayer, perhaps, too.
